Today was the day to tune up the
TX/RX cans that
AA9NV acquired
for
KI4HZP's 444.475
station in Palm Bay. Sonny was able to break away from his duties on
the Coast for a few hours. Mike,
N4HHA, was
ready and waiting to tune them up. Also the lesson would include the
setting up of a 8 cavity Pass/Reject for the 927.7000
N4GUS
repeater so that the Micro Circuits preamp will work correctly. It
was one of those lightning fast, " 'cause he knows what he is doing",
sessions. Sonny only had about an hour and a half and needed to head
back. The results were great! The 8 Cavity device for the 900
machine was already pretuned, by Mike and didn't need anything
further. Afterwards Sonny headed home to tear the Motorola Cans out of his rack
and install the TX/RX
device.
